Higher Output Stator Plate Kit for 1977-79 P200E and 1977 Rally 200.
Anyone that has done some searching around knows that finding a replacement stator plate for the earlier electrical systems on P-series engines is impossible. The earlier electrical system is found on 1977 Rally 200s and 1977-79 P200s. In the Vespa world this electrical system is commonly referred to as the "Double Yellow" system. It's called the double yellow because there are two yellow wires at the junction box and voltage regulator. The later electrical systems (1980-1981) only have a single yellow wire. The later system has a higher output 90 watt stator plate. With the increased output of the later stator plates; the headlight is brighter, the charging is better, and the ignition system is stronger.
The Special inline AC regulator included in this kit allows the fitment of the later stator plate on the earlier electrical systems. This is the solution to your charging, headlight, and ignition woes on the earlier P-Series applications.
This kit includes: --Brand new Italian Made 90 watt Stator plate --Specially modified in-line AC regulator --All the necessary mounting hardware --YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN FOR TOOLS AND DECADES WORTH OF VESPA KNOWLEDGE ;)
This stator kit includes the followings parts #s:
-186147 -REG12VAC-167103
INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING "186147" WORK ON A DOUBLE YELLOW WIRE (EARLIER ELECTRICAL SYSTEM)
1- Attach yellow from stator to either yellow from main harness (at junction box) 2- Attach red to from stator to either yellow from main harness (at junction box) 3- Install "reg12vac" parallel w/ ground to purple/gray wire at junction box. 3a- Attach yellow wire on regulator to purple/gray wire on stator and to purple wire in main harness. 3b- Install brown wire on regulator to black wire from stator and to black wire in main harness. 4- Install all other wires as per usual. 5- Install red, white, and green wires to stator as per usual.
