**UNIVERSAL** 12 VOLT AC IN-LINE REGULATOR (Bulb Saver)

12V AC Inline Shunt Regulator. This is just a simple AC shunt regulator for a NO battery 12 volt system.  This handy in-line 12V AC Shunt Voltage Regulator (Clipper diode or Zenner Diode) will keep the voltage to a consistent 12 volts AC. This will keep bulbs from burning out, saving you thousands of dollars.  It can also be used to replace the original 3-terminal regulator #161639 found on European Vespa PX that does not have electric start, many far-east restoration and used with non-battery Vespa conversions with single output AC stator and WIREKIT-1 simplified wiring.  We also offer a larger version of this 12 volt AC shunt regulator, see part #161639-AM

Functions of the terminals on this voltage regulator are:

• Both 1 and 2 terminals are the AC shunt regulation for lighting.  They are internally connected, 1 can go to your lighting coil and 2 can be your output to your bulbs.  They function the same as the original Vespa regulator “G” terminal.
• Terminal 3 is Ground terminal that typically ties to a black wire and will have continuity to the mounting tab of this regulator, scooter frame and engine cases.  This must have a good and clean ground in order to function correctly and clip or shunt the AC input power to no more than 14 volts AC.
