Inner High Tension Coil for Vespas with the Coil Mounted on the Stator Plate
INNER HIGH TENSION (H/T) COIL MOUNTED ON STATOR PLATE - VN1-15 V30-33 VM1-2 APE B MOST PRE 55 VESPA (COILAT124)
Most Vespas had the high tension coil (where the spark plug wire comes from) mounted externally on the rear of the motor. Some of the 50s and 60s models had the High Tension Coil mounted directly on the Stator Plate with the spark plug wire coming out of the engine cases or out of a bakelite junction box on top of the motor. This Spark Plug Coil is the inner type that mounts directly to the stator plate.
The spacing for the mounting holes, center to center is 43.5mm or just shy of 1.75". It has one red wire going to the copper windings in the side of the hole. The ground wire appears to have been incorporated into the coil on this reproduction. There is one spark plug wire mount coming off the outer diameter of the windings.
Total width is 71mm or 2.8: Diameter of the windings 33mm or 13.25"
What scooters this fits is a bit of a mystery as the part numbers are all over the place. The part number doesn't correspond to any Vespa parts books. According to our mechanic, it could be adapted to work on Most Vespas. Mostly only the connection to the spark plug wire differs on these, so if you can make this one work for your style of spark plug wire connection, it should work on your Vespa.
