This gasket, or bushing, fits between the exhaust header and silencer. Scoring towards the header.

Keep an eye on this gasket as they have been prone to failure at higher mileages.

We'd also recommend keeping a spare in your toolbox in the event that you ever have to take your muffler off. It is intended to be installed one way. The stainless steel braid faces out towards the header, the smooth end goes in first during installation.
