Your scooter's cush gear separates the gear cluster from the crankshaft. It's called a "cush gear" because it functions as a shock absorber, or "cushion", for your transmission. For larger bikes with more torque, it requires periodic rebuilding or replacement, and a rebuilt cush gear often provides a noticeable improvement. On the other hand, a shoddy cush gear can lead to a damaged crankshaft, flywheel, and clutch, and it would be a total bummer to replace these things simply because your cush gear needs rebuilding!

Our shop is set up to completely overhaul the cush gear on any vintage Vespa: we'll disassemble the cush gear and replace the internal springs, end plates, and rivets before reassembly. After that, you'll be riding smooth and comforted by the fact that your crankshaft, flywheel, and clutch are getting the cushion they deserve!

Once we have received your part(s), we will put together an estimate for the cost of your repairs, and we will respond to you via email and/or phone.
Please ship your items using Certified Mail or UPS, and please allow up to 2 business days after delivery for a response. Most services will take us only 24 hours to turn around and ship back to you, so don't be surprised if we finish working on your parts the same day we receive them!
